Free Minecraft server website template
The free Minecraft server website template at Astroworld Hosting and Lodehost is Survival, and it comes with every plan from 8 GB of RAM. It opens as a finished site with three pages, Home, Shop and Rules, with your server status and your ranks already on it.
Survival is not only for survival servers. The headings, sections and text are all yours to change, so it works for an SMP or a small modded server as well. The six other designs are made for one kind of server each and belong to the paid tier.
Outside a hosting panel, free templates are mostly HTML and CSS projects on GitHub. They cost nothing, but you need somewhere to host them and you edit the code yourself, as explained further down this page.
Minecraft server website design for each kind of server
The seven Minecraft server website designs at Astroworld Hosting and Lodehost are Survival, Skyblock, Network, Factions, SMP, Prison and Creative. Each one opens with the pages and sections that kind of server uses most, filled in with your server name and address.
| Design | Made for | What it opens with | Tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Survival | Survival servers | Your server status and ranks, a shop page and your rules | Free |
| Skyblock | Island servers | An island leaderboard and how to start in three steps, on a light sky background | Paid |
| Network | Servers with several game modes | A card for each game mode with its players online, news and a games page | Paid |
| Factions | Factions and PvP | A countdown to the next map, the top factions and how a season works | Paid |
| SMP | Whitelisted SMPs | About the server, how to get on the whitelist, the team and what is new | Paid |
| Prison | Prison servers | The rank ladder, the richest players and a mine in the background | Paid |
| Creative | Plot and build servers | A countdown to the next build contest and the winning builds | Paid |
Every design works with 9 color themes and 16 backgrounds. You can switch to another design later and keep the text you wrote, so starting with Survival and moving to a premium design later costs you nothing but the paid tier.
At Astroworld Hosting the paid tier costs €11.99 a month per site and includes one of the six premium designs. Lodehost lists the premium designs as part of its paid tier. Which plans come with the builder is on our page about the free Minecraft server website.
Minecraft SMP website template
The SMP design is the Minecraft SMP website template in the hosts' website builders. It starts with a page about the server, how to get on the whitelist, the team and what is new.
On an SMP the whitelist page matters most. Say who can apply, what you ask in the application and where players send it, such as a Discord channel or a form. Put the rules on the same page, because applicants should read them before they apply. If your SMP runs a web map such as BlueMap or Dynmap, link it from the home page, so new players can look around the world before they apply.
Minecraft server website template on GitHub
Minecraft server website templates on GitHub are free HTML, CSS and JavaScript projects that you download, change and host yourself, for example on GitHub Pages. They give you full control over the design, and they work with a server at any host.
The price is your time. You edit the code, add a status widget for your server and update the site after every change. Check four things before you choose one:
- The license. An open source license such as MIT lets you use and change the template. A repository without a license does not give you that right.
- The last update. A template nobody has touched for years may depend on old libraries.
- The phone layout. Many players open a server website on their phone, so try the demo on a small screen first.
- How it shows the status. A good template reads the server address from one setting and fetches the status from an API, instead of a player count typed into the page.
Minecraft server store website template
A Minecraft server store website template usually comes from the webstore service that takes the payments for your ranks, such as Tebex, and not from the main website. The store runs on its own address, and your website links to it.
In the website builders at Astroworld Hosting and Lodehost, the Survival design has a shop page, the Rank grid shows your ranks with their perks and prices, and a Shop button sends players on to the store you use. Whatever you sell, stay within Mojang's Minecraft Usage Guidelines: cosmetics are allowed, except capes, and perks that change gameplay must not give paying players a competitive advantage.
Minecraft server WordPress theme
A Minecraft server WordPress theme turns a WordPress site into a server website, with the theme for the look and plugins for extras such as a server status widget. It is a good fit when you also want a blog, a forum or a wiki next to the site.
WordPress needs web hosting with PHP and a database, and you have to keep WordPress, the theme and every plugin up to date, or the site becomes an easy target for hackers. For a site with an address, rules, ranks and a status, that is a lot of upkeep. A builder or a static template does the same job with less work.
Which Minecraft server website template should you use?
Use the free Survival template in your hosting panel if your plan has 8 GB or more and you want a website online the same day. Choose a GitHub template if you can edit HTML and want full control over the design, and WordPress if you also want a blog or a forum.
| Survival in the hosting panel | Premium design | GitHub template | WordPress theme | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | Free with plans from 8 GB | €11.99 a month at Astroworld Hosting | Free | Free or paid |
| Hosting | Included | Included | GitHub Pages or your own host | Web hosting with PHP |
