What does a 24 GB Minecraft server cost?
A 24 GB Minecraft server costs from €19.20 a month, for CheapestMinecraftHosting Crew in Poland. Lodehost Premium and Astroworld Premium both cost €23.95 when you pay monthly, about one euro per gigabyte, with daily backups included. At Astroworld Hosting this is an end-of-line price: the larger sizes of its standard line are being retired, and until then they cost half their regular price.
The Performance line roughly doubles the price at this size, to €46.95 a month for Astroworld Premium Performance. For a heavy tech modpack with ten players online, you pay for the faster cores and Enterprise NVMe storage, and they are worth it. For a big world with light mods, you do not need them.
For 6 to 10 players with a large modpack on Java in Poland (Warsaw), the finder recommends Astroworld Hosting Premium Performance: 24 GB, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, DDR5, for €46.95 a month when you pay monthly. As a new customer you pay €18.78 a month for the first 3 months, 60% off. The best plans at the other two hosts are Lodehost Premium at €46.95 and CheapestMinecraftHosting Crew at €19.20.
How many players fit on a 24 GB Minecraft server?
A 24 GB Minecraft server holds about 66 players online on vanilla, 44 with plugins, 38 on a modded server and 16 on a large modpack. The table shows how many players fit on 24 GB of RAM for each kind of server, by the same rule the finder uses. On plugin servers this big, the processor sets the real limit.
| Setup | Players online on 24 GB | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Vanilla | About 66 | The vanilla server or Paper without plugins |
| Plugins | About 44 | Paper or Purpur with a few plugins |
| Modded | About 38 | Fabric, Forge or NeoForge with mods you pick yourself |
| Modpack | About 16 | A large modpack with around 300 mods |
Is 24 GB too much RAM for a Minecraft server?
24 GB is too much RAM for most small Minecraft servers: only large modpacks and public servers use all of it. Extra memory that the server never uses does not make it faster, and a Java server with far more memory than it needs can even pause a little longer when it cleans up. So choose 24 GB for the players you actually have online: about 16 on a large modpack, or a public plugin server with about 44. For a plugin server with twenty players, 12 GB is enough. Twenty players with plugins need about 12 GB by our rule, so a 24 GB plan would leave half of its memory unused.
