How much RAM does a Craft to Exile 2 server need?
A Craft to Exile 2 server needs about 13 GB of RAM for five players, 18 GB for ten and 28 GB for twenty. Version 2.1.4 has 397 mods, and 335 of them run on the server, which puts it with the large packs in our rule: about 8 GB to start and about 1 GB per player. The party the pack is balanced around, four players, comes to 12 GB.
| Players online | RAM needed | Plan size | Lowest price for that size |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 to 5 | 13 GB | 16 GB | CheapestMinecraftHosting Pro, €12.80 a month in Poland (Warsaw) |
| 6 to 10 | 18 GB | 24 GB | CheapestMinecraftHosting Crew, €19.20 a month in Poland (Warsaw) |
| 11 to 20 | 28 GB | 32 GB | CheapestMinecraftHosting Guild, €25.60 a month in Poland (Warsaw) |
Astroworld Hosting's Craft to Exile 2 page puts it lower: 7 GB for up to three players, 9 GB for four to eight and 12 GB for nine to sixteen. The gap is loot. Every drop is an item with rolled stats, a full map leaves plenty of them on the floor, and our numbers keep room for the evening when nobody bothers to pick anything up.
Craft to Exile 2 server requirements and Java version
A Craft to Exile 2 server needs Java 17, Forge 47.4.23 for Minecraft 1.20.1 and a fast processor core. The hosts we compare pick Java 17 from the Minecraft version, so only a home server needs it set by hand. The core matters more than in most packs. Mine and Slash calculates damage, affixes and drops for every player and every mob, and its makers measured how much: their 2.0.2 update gave back 20% to 30% of the server thread on large servers.
How to make a Craft to Exile 2 server
A Craft to Exile 2 server takes 4 steps, and most of the setup is choosing the right version:
- Order a 16 GB plan for a party of up to five, with Forge as the server type.
- Install Craft to Exile 2 from CurseForge in the panel. Astroworld Hosting and Lodehost do this in one click, and Cheapest Minecraft Hosting from its Mods tab, with Forge 47.4.23 set for you.
- Pick 2.1.4 or newer, and the same version your party installs in the CurseForge app.
- Start it once, wait for Done and invite your party. With 335 mods, the first start takes a few minutes.
Craft to Exile 2 server crash and lag fixes
Craft to Exile 2 server crashes on versions 2.1.0 to 2.1.3 are fixed in 2.1.4, so update a server that runs one of them. The changelog lists the fixes one by one: 2.1.1 fixed a server crash with Exile Overlay and a Map Device that did not work on servers, 2.1.2 fixed another server crash and 2.1.4 fixed a crash on startup. All four patches came out between 8 and 10 September 2026.
The lag fixes are just as specific:
- Leaving a map: before 2.1.0, the whole server waited for chunks to load when a player left a map. The 2.1.0 update fixed that freeze.
- Finding the cause: the server files lost spark in 2.0.0. Add it again and run
/spark profiler start --timeout 300during a busy map to see what takes the time. - Loot on the floor: every item left lying around is an entity the server tracks until it despawns, so pick up or clear the floor after a big map instead of leaving hundreds of rolled items behind.
How to play Craft to Exile 2 multiplayer
Craft to Exile 2 multiplayer works best in parties of four: since version 1.1.0, experience is not split until a party has more than 4 players, each member adds 25% to the drops up to 4 members, and mobs spawn at the level of the lowest-level party member nearby. You make a party from the inventory screen, where the pack moved all team menus when it turned the party command off.
That shapes the server too. A party of four that runs maps together loads one map at a time, which is the cheapest way to play. Two parties running separate maps double the work, which is why we size a server for ten players at 18 GB, a 24 GB plan.
Craft to Exile 2 official servers or your own?
Craft to Exile 2 comes with official servers in North America and Europe in its multiplayer list, so you can play online without hosting anything. They are shared with everyone, and the pack's changelog says their map, Harvest and Obelisk dimensions are wiped every day. Your own server is for a group that wants a private world, its own pace and its own settings, close to where you live.
