How much RAM does a Create mod server need?
A Create mod server needs about 8 GB of RAM for five players, 10 GB for ten players and 15 GB for twenty, with Create and a handful of add-ons. A Create modpack with a hundred or more mods needs more: about 11 GB for five players, 16 GB for ten and 26 GB for twenty. Create itself is one mod, not a kitchen-sink pack, so its memory footprint is modest. The table shows Create with a few other mods; for a full pack, use the second set of numbers.
| Players online | RAM needed | Plan size | Lowest price for that size |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 to 5 | 8 GB | 8 GB | CheapestMinecraftHosting Plus, €6.40 a month in Poland (Warsaw) |
| 6 to 10 | 10 GB | 12 GB | CheapestMinecraftHosting Builder, €9.60 a month in Poland (Warsaw) |
| 11 to 20 | 15 GB | 16 GB | CheapestMinecraftHosting Pro, €12.80 a month in Poland (Warsaw) |
Why a Create server needs a fast processor
A Create server needs a fast processor core because a contraption is not stored, it is calculated. When players assemble a moving structure, the server works out collisions, block placement and interactions for every block in it on every tick. A small drill is nothing; a train of two hundred blocks on a scheduled route, plus several players with waterwheel factories, is real work for the main thread. More RAM does not buy you more ticks. Reserved Ryzen 9 threads on the Performance lines of Astroworld Hosting and Lodehost do, and that is why our pick for Create leans towards performance.
Create mod server: Forge, NeoForge or Fabric?
Run Create on NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1, on Forge for 1.20.1 and older, or on Fabric with the Fabric port. Create started on Forge, and most big Create modpacks still use it. On 1.21.1, Create and many other large mods build for NeoForge. A Fabric port called Create Fabric exists with the same core features. What decides it for your server is the add-ons you want, because each one is built for a specific loader and Minecraft version. All three hosts we compare install Forge, NeoForge and Fabric from the panel.
How to make a Create mod server
A Create mod server takes four steps, and the first one is choosing the version:
- Pick the version and loader that Create and all your add-ons support, for example NeoForge 1.21.1.
- Order a plan with 8 GB or more and set that loader and version in the panel.
- Install Create from the panel's mod search, or upload it to the
modsfolder, with the add-ons you want. - Start the server, read the console for missing libraries, and give your players the same mod list.
Create modpack servers: Above and Beyond, Astral and Arcane Engineering
The best-known Create modpacks each run on their own version, so check it before you order. Astroworld Hosting counted them on 27 September 2026:
- Create: Above and Beyond, the progression pack built around Create: Forge 1.16.5, 136 mods, 5 to 8 GB by their figures.
- Create: Astral, Create taken to other planets: Fabric 1.18.2, 197 mods, 5 to 8 GB.
- Create: Arcane Engineering, Create with Ars Nouveau magic: Forge 1.18.2, 197 mods, 5 to 9 GB.
Our own rule for packs of this size is higher, at about 11 GB for five players and 16 GB for ten, and that is the safer size to buy.
Best Create mod server hosting plans
The best Create mod server hosting for ten players is a 12 GB plan with reserved processor threads, because contraptions need ticks more than memory.
