How much RAM does a Craftoria server need?
A Craftoria server needs about 13 GB of RAM for five players, 18 GB for ten and 28 GB for twenty. Release 1.37.0 has 522 mods, which puts Craftoria with the largest packs in our rule: about 8 GB before anyone joins and about 1 GB per player. The pack's own server config starts Java with a limit of 5 GB, below what we would give a single player, so raise it if you run the server files yourself.
| Players online | RAM needed | Plan size | Lowest price for that size |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 to 5 | 13 GB | 16 GB | CheapestMinecraftHosting Pro, €12.80 a month in Poland (Warsaw) |
| 6 to 10 | 18 GB | 24 GB | CheapestMinecraftHosting Crew, €19.20 a month in Poland (Warsaw) |
| 11 to 20 | 28 GB | 32 GB | CheapestMinecraftHosting Guild, €25.60 a month in Poland (Warsaw) |
Astroworld Hosting's Craftoria page gives 8 GB for up to three players, 11 GB for four to eight and 14 GB for nine to sixteen. We size higher on purpose. A Craftoria group rarely stays in one place for long: each player who builds a base of their own adds machines, storage and farms that keep ticking for as long as they are loaded, and that is the memory our numbers leave room for.
Craftoria server requirements and Java version
A Craftoria server needs Java 21 or Java 25, NeoForge 21.1.249 for Minecraft 1.21.1, a fast processor core and room on the disk. The Java line comes from the pack's own server files. The hosts we compare choose Java from the Minecraft version, so you only set it yourself on your own machine. The core matters as much as the memory, because Create contraptions, Mekanism machines and Modern Industrialization multiblocks all run on the main thread.
Disk space is the requirement most people miss. Craftoria ships SimpleBackups, set to save a full backup every 120 minutes while players are online, keep the newest 5 and stop at 25 GB. On a plan with 60 GB of disk, that is over 40% of it. Astroworld Hosting and Lodehost include daily backups, so there you can lower backupsToKeep or maxDiskSize in config/simplebackups-common.toml. At Cheapest Minecraft Hosting, where daily backups cost €1.99 a month, the pack's own backups are worth keeping. Our Minecraft server backup guide explains how to restore one.
Craftoria server pack: what is in it and how it starts
The Craftoria server pack is a zip of 5 small files, published on CurseForge as an additional file of each release, named Craftoria Server and the version number. It holds start scripts for Windows and Linux, a README, a server icon and the config of ServerStarter, the tool that does the real install.
On the first start, ServerStarter downloads NeoForge 21.1.249 and the Craftoria release named in its config, leaves out client mods such as Iris, Sodium and SeasonHUD, and asks you to accept the Minecraft EULA. The first start therefore needs a working internet connection and takes several minutes. If the server pack stops there, look for a failed download in the console before you try anything else. To run it at home, open server-setup-config.yaml first and raise maxRam from 5G to the size in the table above.
On a host you can skip all of this. Astroworld Hosting and Lodehost install CurseForge modpacks such as Craftoria in one click, and Cheapest Minecraft Hosting from its Mods tab, and the plan sets the memory.
How to make a Craftoria server
A Craftoria server takes 5 steps, and the panel's installer sets NeoForge for you:
- Order 16 GB for up to five players, or 24 GB for ten, with NeoForge as the server type.
- Install Craftoria from the panel and pick the same release your group has in the CurseForge app. Two releases can differ by a few mods, and a player whose mods do not match is turned away.
- Add Chunky and pre-generate. Craftoria does not include it, and it only has to be on the server. Run
chunky spawn, chunky radius 2000andchunky startin the console before your first evening. - Start the server and wait for Done, then type
opand your name in the console to get admin rights. - Share the address from the panel with your group, and decide together how long you stay on this release.
Craftoria chunk loading: keep machines running when you log off
Craftoria chunk loading runs through FTB Chunks, which lets each player force-load 25 chunks, but those machines only keep running when you log off if a teammate is still online. That catches out groups who leave a factory running overnight: the chunks unload with the last teammate, and nothing in them works until somebody returns. Two settings change it:
- For every player: run
ftbranks node add member ftbchunks.chunk_load_offline truein the console. FTB Ranks gives everyone the member rank, so every team then keeps its force-loaded chunks while offline. - For the whole server: copy config/ftbchunks-world.snbt to world/serverconfig/ftbchunks-world.snbt and set
force_load_modeto"always". A copy in world/serverconfig is not overwritten when you update the pack.
The same ranks raise the limits, with the nodes ftbchunks.max_force_loaded and ftbchunks.max_claimed; claims start at 500 chunks per player. Every force-loaded chunk keeps its machines working around the clock, so a server where all players run factories offline needs processor headroom even when nobody is online.
Craftoria seasons on a server that runs 24/7
Craftoria seasons on a server that runs 24/7 go by in about one week for a whole year: the pack sets every sub-season to 42 days, so a season lasts 126 Minecraft days and a year 504, and a Minecraft day takes 20 minutes. The count goes on while nobody plays, because the pack turns on progress_season_while_offline.
New worlds start in early spring, only the overworld has seasons, and crops out of season grow slowly instead of stopping. A group that plays two evenings a week can still log in to find winter. To make the seasons wait for you, set progress_season_while_offline = false in config/sereneseasons/seasons.toml and restart the server.
Craftoria 2 server: Worlds Beyond on Minecraft 26.1.2
A Craftoria 2 server runs NeoForge for Minecraft 26.1.2 and needs Java 25, with 229 mods in version 0.11.0. Craftoria 2: Worlds Beyond is a separate pack from the same team, not an update, so a group that moves to it starts a new world. It swaps Serene Seasons for Ecliptic Seasons and adds skill levels with Reskillable Reimagined. It has no FTB Chunks and no SimpleBackups, so the chunk loading and backup settings above are for Craftoria only, while its server files use the same ServerStarter setup with the same 5 GB default.

Best Craftoria server hosting plans
The best Craftoria server hosting for five players is a 16 GB plan on a fast processor, because the pack's machines keep the main thread busy.
For 2 to 5 players with a large modpack on Java in Poland (Warsaw), the finder recommends Astroworld Hosting Advanced Performance: 16 GB, AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, DDR5, for €40.95 a month when you pay monthly. As a new customer you pay €16.38 a month for the first 3 months, 60% off. The best plans at the other two hosts are Lodehost Premium at €46.95 and CheapestMinecraftHosting Pro at €12.80.
